Chairman

Trained and graduated from the Indian Air Force, Capt. Bikas JB Rana has served in the Nepal Army as a Pilot and Instructor for over 20 Years. As a founder of Fishtail Air, Capt. Rana has played a major role in preparing the foundation for helicopter operation as a prominent as well as significant segment of the Nepalese Tourism Industry. A Three term President of the Airlines Operator's Association of Nepal (AOAN), Capt Rana was also the Board Member to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) for five years in which his role was instrumental in bringing about some favorable changes in the aviation industry of Nepal. Every member of Fishtail Air is proud to be a part of the team under Mr. Rana in moving ahead with confidence and proper motivation.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

With his Twenty Years of active involvement in the Adventure business, Mr. Suman Pandey is a well known figure of the Nepalese Tourism Industry. Having served as President of the Trekking Agents Association of Nepal (TAAN) and an Executive member to Nepal Tourism board, Mr. Pandey is also involved in his business of Trekking, Travel and other subjects of Tourism which makes him a right person to evaluate the needs of Tourists coming to Nepal. With a vast knowledge of operation in different parts through out the Nepalese Himalayas, Mr. Pandey's experience and expertise has been a great asset to the company in planning its strategies and successful execution.

PILOTS

Capt. Deepak JB Rana

who is also the Director of Marketing of the company started his piloting career in the year 1995. He has completed more than a decade as a helicopter pilot and has logged more than 4,000 hours of flying. He has flown various types of helicopters which includes AS 350B series, BK-117 and MI-17 helicopters. He is presently handling the Marketing Department of the company.

Capt. Ashish Sherchan

who is also the Director of Operations of the company; started his career as a helicopter pilot from the year 1995. To date he has logged more than 3,500 hours of flying. He is an experienced pilot with ratings on AS 350 series of helicopters, and ratings on BK-117 and MI-17 helicopter in the past. He is presently handling the Operation Department of the company.

Capt. Sabin Basnyat

is also the Director of Training and the Chief Pilot of the company. He started his piloting career at the very young age of 18. He has logged more than 4,500 hours of flying in various types of helicopters. His ratings include AS 350 series, and Bell 206 helicopters. He also had ratings on BK-117 and MI-17 helicopters in the past. He is also a CAAN approved Instructor Pilot. He now handles the Training Department for the pilots of the company.

Capt. Siddartha J. Gurung

who is also the Director of Safety of the company, started his career as a helicopter pilot from the year 1995. He has logged more than 3,700 hours of flying in various types of helicopters. His current rating is on AS 350 series and Bell 206 helicopter. He also had ratings on MI-17 and BK-117 helicopters. He also has the privilege of being an Instructor Pilot approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal. He now handles the Safety Department of the Company.

ENGINEERING

With a fleet of five helicopters, which includes two AS 350 B3 "Ecureuil", one AS 350 B2 "Ecureuil", one AS 350 B "Ecureuil" and one Bell 206B III Jet Ranger helicopter, Fishtail Air is the largest helicopter operator in Nepal. To fly and maintain its technically advanced fleet, Fishtail Air has appointed a team of skilled engineers and technicians who are highly experienced and have years of proven experience.

Col. Mr. Bishwo K. Gorkhali (Rtd.)

Technical Director of the Company, is a retired Colonel of the Nepalese Army. He has worked under the VVIP Flights as Engineering In-Charge. He has been working in the aviation field since 1982 and has an experience of more than 20 years in Super Puma AS 332, Bell 206L series, Ecureuil AS 350 series and Alouette helicopters. He is also an experienced and CAAN approved technical instructor for helicopters.

Col. Mr. Om P. Shrestha (Rtd.)

who is the Senior Engineer of the Company; a retired Colonel and Chief Engineer from the Nepalese Army VVIP Flights, is one of the most experienced technician of the company. He has worked an obtained his training within and outside the country. He has worked for helicopter companies like the Helog Company in Switzerland and Austria. He was also the supervisor of the UN Mission helicopters operating in countries like Sudan and Sierra Leone.

Lt. Col. Mr. Gupta Bahadur Gurung (Rtd)

Senior Avionics Engineer of the Company, is a retired Avionics incharge of Neplease Army VVIP flights. He is a CAAN approved Aircraft Maintenance Technician and has ratings in MI-17, Super Puma AS 332, Bell 206L series, Alouette and Ecureuil AS 350 series helicopters in Avionics. He has been working in the aviation field since 1982 and has an experience of more than 20 years. He has also been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority to act as a Ground Instructor.

Mr. Anil Basnyat

who is the Senior CAAN approved Aircraft Maintenance Technician and has ratings in AS 350 series, MI-17 and BK-117 helicopters both in Engine and Airframe. He has been working in this field since 1986 and has an experience of more than 20 years. He has also been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority to act as a Ground Instructor. Our support team in the Operations, Engineering, IT, Administration, Finance, and Marketing Departments are also very able and experienced. They have been engaged in their line of responsibilities for the past ten or more years and have adequate and expert knowledge of their area. They are friendly, cooperative and helpful in whatever assistance a client may need or require. In short, Fishtail Air Pvt. Ltd. can boast of a very well set team which can impart safer, reliable, friendly and cooperative service to clients from all the sectors.
