A HIGH-PERFORMANCE WORKHORSE WITH HOT AND HIGH CAPABILITIES

The high-performance variant of the AS350 Ecureuil (Squirrel/AStar) series, the single-engine B3 outclasses all other 6 seat helicopters for power, flexibility, safety and low acquisition and maintenance costs. The AS350 B3 is made to measure for hot conditions and very high altitudes. In fact, a standard production model recently made history by landing on Mount Everest! The 847 shp (632 kW) Turbomeca Arriel 2B 1 engine is equipped with a FADEC system for automatic start-up sequences and carefree engine handling. The cockpit is equipped with state-of-the-art 3-axis auto-pilot and dual LCD-screen Vehicle and Engine Multifunction Display (VEMD). This allows the pilot to see at a glance the main vehicle and engine parameters, reducing his workload and enhancing safety. The airframe, rotors and bearingless main rotor head use a maximum of composite materials to lighten and strengthen the aircraft, as wall as reduce vibration, noise and maintenance.The AS350 B3 is designed to handle any mission. Thanks to its wide cabin, it can be reconfigured quickly and easily for everything from utility and heavy load transport to medical evacuation, SAR, law enforcement, oil-rig transport and corporate passenger transport.

Its exceptional lifting power, high endurance, extended range and fast cruise speed make virtually any job looks easy. The AS350 B3 can climb to 3,000 meters in 2 minutes 21 seconds and has more than proved its power with a record breaking landing on Mount Everest. More than 530 AS350 B3s are presently in operational service worldwide, mainly performing missions requiring high performance, including "hot and high" missions and sling work (external load capability of the B3 is 1,400 kg).
